Biblical Basis of Elders
Elders at Covenant Christian Church, and in the general Christian church doctrine, serve as a body of leadership in all areas of church operations. This includes ministry, finance, and Bible-based theology. In some cases, the pastor is also an elder and is included as a "non-voting" member of the church Board (over which the elders preside and which is comprised of elders and the servant leaders of the various ministries).
While the creation of church bylaws is a requirement by state government, the appointment and qualifications of elders is outlined in the following passages of New Testament scripture:

- Titus 1:6-9
